Many of us who have been skiing for years & years know we need some help but somehow can't face taking lessons & losing the opportunity of free skiing with friends & risking signing on with expensive teachers who aren't much help into the bargain.
Our chalet holidays including ski tuition are the solution!
Dave Beattie is a Scottish BASI instructor who formed his ski school in Courchevel with all English speaking BASI grade 1 instructors 20 years ago (those of you who know anything about the French restrictions will know how good these guys need to be to satisfy the French of their ability).
Dave now lives in Courchevel all year. I sought him out having been recommended several times by my serious skiing friends! Dave has now taken chalets for the season & personally supervises their staffing to ensure good chalet accommodation & service BUT unlike other chalet operators he includes free ski lessons with the very best qualified instructors rather than just guiding. In Courchevel.We will all therefore be able to enjoy staying together & going off to lessons together in the morning & then start our free skiing late morning in groups of our own choosing.This year there is also a guided holiday for the first time in Les Deux Alpes.
Beginners & less experienced skiers are always welcome on our holidays but in Courchevel they will feel much more part of the group because even experienced skiers will be heading towards Skivo2. . Lessons are Sun/Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri with Wednesday left free for guiding
To be sure you have the right equipment Dave has his own hire department & offers servicing for those taking their own skis.

Saturday November 14th 2009 - Kaprun, Austria - £599
This is a course conducted by Skivo2 trainers on the glacier in Austria. It gives an opportunity for serious skiers to get their season off to a great start with 4 hours coaching every day. You should be a confident blue run skier ie level 4 on the Skivo2 chart.The nearest airport for this holiday is Salzburg. But you can also choose Munich by arrangement with the Skivo2 office to advise on timing

January 16th 2010 les Deux Alpes - £550 accomodation and guiding
This year we are offering a new destination with guiding instead of lessons. Accommodation will be in a simple 2* hotel. All rooms will be ensuite and we have arranged half board accommodation including wine at dinner every day
Outline programme will be:
Sunday: Full day guiding on the glacier. Relaxed easy day to find our ski legs again!
Monday: Morning on the Pied Moutet sector (mainly blues) . Afternoon exploring the Toura area (mainly reds)
Tuesday: Day trip to Alpe Duez
Wednesday: Free Day
Thursday: Day trip to La Grave for strong skiers (all off piste) Guiding on glacier for all other guests
Friday: Easy morning in Deux Alpes
There will also be intensive coaching available at an extra cost for those who choose it with Dave Beattie the owner & chief coach at Skivo2
Flights for Deux Alpes will be into Grenoble or Lyon. (please discuss timings to fit available transfers)

This is usually a very large fun party & last year we had over 60 guests. Ski lessons are included for 2 hours a day on 5 days . Chalet catering includes breakfast, afternoon tea and 3 course dinner with wine on 6 days

Our March week is usually another great party with over 60 guests this year. The accomodation in March is split between La Tania & Le Praz it is easy to ski back into either & use the local free bus to travel between the villages. Skivo2 have also promised a daily minibus transfer at about 6pm for those of us who choose to apres in Le Peuplier & live in La Tania.
